Grant Type 2A

Top-Up Grant for previously funded ODIN projects:

PARTICIPANTS: At least one academic applicant (who is/was a partner on the original ODIN project) and one industry partner

LENGTH: Up to 1 year

BUDGET FOR EACH PROJECT: Up to 1,5 M DKK

TOTAL FUNDING AVAILABLE: Up to 4 M DKK

PURPOSE: A top-up grant open to ODIN recipients to add additional value to their current or past ODIN project

Deadlines for Grant Type 2A:

21 August: Ideas must be publicly shared on the WorldLabs platform

24 September: Application deadline


SCIENTIFIC SCOPE

ODIN focuses on research within some of the most pressing global health challenges, where outcomes hold strong innovation potential. ODIN's Grant 2A projects are supported financially by the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF).

NNF-funded Scope for Grant Type 2A - up to DKK 4 million

› Cardiovascular and Cardiometabolic diseases (CMD & CVD)

› Infectious diseases

› Regenerative medicine

› Disease-agnostic platform technologies and research tools/methods for broader healthcare applications*

*Research within platforms/tools/methods must demonstrate that the technology, tool, or method can eventually be applied to at least one of the other NNF-scope areas.


TEAM

THE MAIN APPLICANT must be an associate or full professor from one of the 5 Danish partner universities (see information for academics)

PARTNERS from any other university, hospital, or non-profit company are welcome, provided they can agree to the open terms and standard agreements. All public/non-profit partners may receive a portion of the project funding

COMPANIES provide in-kind support to the project. They do not provide or receive grant funding. Each project must have at least one company partner


IMPORTANT NOTE

A standard Project Agreement is to be entered into by all project participants before starting an ODIN project. The agreement is non-negotiable, as the terms have already been defined by the founding companies and universities for the purpose of ease-of-collaboration. ABOUT ODIN

We unite bright minds from industry and academia to jointly create need-driven clinical research projects - and pave the way for innovative new treatments and diagnostics. We fund the best project ideas through competitive funding calls. Although companies cannot receive funding, it is free of charge to join.

The platform is sponsored by the Novo Nordisk Foundation with 180 million DKK from 2024-2029.
