In Poland SmartSOIL partner Zbigniew Kraczun spoke to Jan Rykalski who runs a 220ha arable farm in Mazovian Voivodeship. The soil is light, sandy with low carbon content. Jan is keen to invest in modern farm production methods and to improve profit. He is using reduced tillage, residue management and manure application in his rotations to improve organic matter, soil water retention and soil structure.
