In Scotland SmartSOIL partner Alistair McVitie spoke to Huw Hunter who runs a 214ha mixed farm in Midlothian.  Huw uses a combination of minimum tillage, manure and cover crops to restore previously poorly managed soil.  He has witnessed a slow recovery of the soil as the soil organic matter has built up.
