In Italy SmartSOIL partner Camilla Dibari spoke to Andrea and Nunzio De Angeli who run a 300ha mixed farm producing apples, peaches, potatoes and maize in Tuscany. The farm has both sandy and heavier clay soils which are managed differently. As Andrea and Nunzio do not have any livestock on the farm, they spend a lot of time improving soil organic matter. Using cover crops and no-till seeding within their rotations has helped with this.
