Citizen Science @AU 2022

New projects and possible collaborations, 19 Aug 2022

This event brings together for the second time people and groups at Aarhus University with an interest in citizen science, broadly understood to include crowd-sourced science, public participation in science, public engagement with science, scientific citizenship, patient and public involvement and more.

We are looking to connect researchers, students, research librarians and other AU staff, also with potential external collaborators, in order to get an overview of new developments in the field of citizen science at Aarhus University and how AU citizen science projects can reach citizens and other interested stakeholders.

Please consider joining us for this event, if you are already working in the citizen science field or if you are simply keen to learn more about citizen science @ AU or discuss potential collaborations. It's free and will be fun.

To register for this event:
Download the Outlook meeting invite, open it, and send a Response. Please indicate if you would like to present your and your group's new citizen science activities (we do not want to repeat presentations from last year's workshop) and/or if you have any dietary requirements (note that lunch will be vegetarian). If you do not use Outlook, please just email Gitte Kragh to register for the event. We will allocate slots in the first half of the programme based on the number of expressions of interest to present AU citizen science activities.

  • 12.00-12.30 Lunch (vegetarian sandwiches/bowls, networking)
  • 12.30-13.30 Presentations of new citizen science activities at AU, including AURORA, crea visionsInformPack, Summer count of Greylag Geese in Denmark, and SustainScapes, plus mentions of other ongoing projects and upcoming funding opportunities.
  • 13.30-13.45 Coffee break
  • 13.45-14.45 Collaboration pitches from potential external collaborators, including ATU (Akademiet for Talentfulde Unge), Habitat, Aarhus Municipality, ITK (Innovation, Teknologi og Kreativitet), Arter.dk, and Randers Regnskov.
  • 14:45-15:30 Conversations with potential collaborators about your existing, planned, or ideas for new, citizen science projects, with drinks and snacks (the programme formally ends at 3.30 pm, but you are most welcome to stay and chat - we have the room until 5pm).
