Red Deer management in Denmark is today highly politicized and there are many different contradicting interests trying to influence the management from different socio-economic and recreative needs. Thereby the legitimacy of the existing management regime and knowledge systems are constantly challenged. The politicization and systematically distorted communication constitute a barrier for the management and for the knowledge creation and thereby prevent a better and more sustainable management. A more sustainable management of Red Deer therefor require that those directly as well as indirectly involved are able to collaborate internally as well as across divides of values and needs, and – to the extent knowledge is lacking – also with relevant expertise.
