Biological data collection

Despite what kind of knowledge the participants will require the data collection need to be prepared. In order to provide useful data the basic data collection will start in primo 2018 and include:

a) GPS- and activity loggers will be affixed on 5-10 Red Deer. Additional 4-5 deer will be marked with loggers annually.        

b) Systematic registration of gender, age and phenology of killed animal with the purpose of describe and monitoring the size of the population, it demographical distribution and the general state of health.

c) Earmarking of calves provide valuable information on the history of the deer and herby provide information about the survival rate of, development in size and state of health. These data will be supplemented with studies of Red Deer teeth, using the cementum annuli age determination method.
