Several biological aspects related to Red Deer is today underdeveloped and better knowledge is required, among else:
1. the biological significance of calves losing their mother,
2. the possibilities of reducing damages on crops and forests,
3. the food preferences and use of habitats of Red Deer,
4. the distribution of age in Red Deer populations, and
More research on these and other topics will contribute with experiences potentially useful for the future Red Deer management in Denmark. The precondition however, is that the biological aspects are integrated with the values and needs of the various citizens and user groups in a way generating legitimacy as well as responsibility. In order to reach to this point the establishment of a common ground is the prerequisite.
