Honorary doctorate 2019: Professor Mark Joseph Daly

Professor Mark Joseph Daly, Director of the Institute of Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM), the Finnish node of the Nordic EMBL Partnership is awarded Aarhus University’s honorary doctorate at the Faculty of Health.

Mark Joseph Daly is considered a pioneer in the field of human genetics and his research focuses on the discovery of genes involved in human disease and providing insights for improved diagnostics and therapeutic development for individual patients. Mark’s lab has established foundational computational tools and statistical methods in genome mapping, linkage and association and automated laboratory data interpretation.

Mark Daly is an important collaborator in the Danish National iPSYCH project on integrative psychiatric research at the Department of Biomedicine, Health, Aarhus University, and has greatly contributed to the genetic studies conducted in the iPSYCH cohort.

The conferral of honorary doctorates will take place on September 13th 2019 at Aarhus University. Mark Daly will give a talk about genomics and precision medicine on the occasion at 10-11 a.m. at the Eduard Biermann Auditorium.
