Description:
The conference includes an international PhD Workshop on the same topics. It will run as a Q&A session between PhDs and keynote speakers. It will bring together the collective knowledge of a diverse range of experts and early career researchers.
Young researchers and PhD students will have the opportunity to valuable insights on research in the field with internationally recognized scholars in the fields of social movements, activism, and digital data. This will be followed by a Q and A session where ERCs can bring all their questions. It will provide them with valuable input and an opportunity to network with their peers in the field.
The PhD workshop will be led by the three keynote speakers at the conference:
- Eugenia Siapera - Head of the School of Information and Communication Studies & Director of the Centre for Digital Policy, University College Dublin
- Stefania Milan - Professor of Critical Data Studies, University of Amsterdam
- Emiliano Treré - Reader in Data Agency and Media Ecologies, Cardiff University
Requirements:
Places for the PhD workshop are limited. Registration is required. In this Q&A session, there is no need to submit a paper. Instead of this, applicants need to fill out a brief form (a couple of lines). They must answer the following questions:

This PhD workshop is free to attend. You can apply for one of our travel grants (up to € 250). Lunch and refreshments will be provided to attendees.
