WG1 – Fruits and Vegetables

WG1 aims at contributing to more sustainable packaging for fruits and vegetables creating a multidisciplinary network and following global approaches to the supply chain, focusing on packaging optimization towards sustainability and reduction of food losses and wastes. The WG work focus on identification of packaging sustainability bottle-necks along the supply chain and on innovative solutions to mitigate these. The WG also develop activities to promote consumer awareness and information regarding packaging, enabling positive choices to support and promote sustainability within supply chain of fruits and vegetables, and to provide recommendations to policymakers and regulatory agencies. The WG pursuit cooperation, for training, education and R&D, between academia and supply chain stakeholders.
