In this video, PhD student Ulia Renfelia Baysi talks about her research on the role of the microbiota-gut-brain axis in the pathogenesis of post-weaning diarrhea (PWD). The project aims to provide key insights into how prolonged stress contributes diarrhea susceptibility, specifically investigating the microbiome's composition, its metabolites, and gut barrier functions. By exploring the interactions between stress, microbial dynamics, and gastrointestinal health during the critical weaning phase, this research seeks to uncover the underlying mechanisms that exacerbate PWD in piglets.
