✨ Welcome Kevin Jerez-Bogota to PIG-PARADIGM !

🐽 Kevin joins us as a Postdoc in the Nutrition Pillar at the Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences in Aarhus University, working with Knud Erik Bach Knudsen, Ole Højberg, Nuria Canibe, and Charlotte Lauridsen.
How can nutritional supplementation for suckling piglets impact their developing microbiome and prevent postweaning diarrhea? Kevin’s work will focus on increase our understanding of these relationships and their vital role on reducing antibiotic usage.

🔬Kevin, originally from Colombia and an American citizen, completed his MSc studies in Animal Science and Data Science at South Dakota State University. He later moved to Denmark to pursue a PhD at Department of Food Science, Aarhus University. Kevin submitted his thesis this past June and will defend his PhD in September.
During his doctoral studies as a Marie Curie Fellow in the MonoGutHealth project, he investigated the synergism of antibacterial plant combinations to control gut infections in piglets and chickens, aiming to achieve a healthier gut microbiome and reduce reliance on conventional antimicrobials.

👏 We’re pleased to welcome Kevin and can't wait to see the valuable contributions he'll make to our team!
