Microbiome Pillar kicks off the first monthly seminar of 2024

This week, Microbiome Pillar kicked off our first monthly seminar of 2024. In this session, Post Doc Bart van der Hee (Wageningen University and Research) took the stage, presenting on: Exploring the Impact of Protein Fermentation on Post-Weaning Diarrhea in Piglets.

Last night, Microbiome Pillar kicked off our first monthly seminar of 2024. In this session, Post Doc Bart van der Hee (Wageningen University and Research) took the stage, presenting on: Exploring the Impact of Protein Fermentation on Post-Weaning Diarrhea in Piglets.

Post-weaning diarrhea (PWD) is a significant welfare concern in pig farming, influenced by dietary changes, stress, and infection, leading to microbial imbalances and potentially increased mortality. In his presentation, Bart delved into data that explores the relationship between intestinal microbiota, protein fermentation, and PWD, utilizing porcine intestinal organoid models to enhance understanding of these interactions and possible implications for PIG-PARADIGM.

A big thank you to Bart and everyone who joined, contributing to a vibrant and insightful discussion!

Stay tuned for more upcoming seminars and enriching insights!
