About:
UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH) are an independent, not-for-profit research institute and a strategic delivery partner for the Natural Environment Research Council. They conduct research and innovation to address major environmental and societal challenges, to understand our environment, how it sustains life, and the human impact on it. UKCEH's work focuses on creating sustainable ecosystems, reducing pollution, and mitigating climate change, whilst working across water, land and air, informing policy-making, commercial innovation and conservation action all around the world.
Main task:
UKCEH are leading WP5, which focuses on replicating and upscaling the Blueprint for European lake restoration produced by FutureLakes. They are also involved in WPs 1, 2, 4 & 6 and bring expertise in lake restoration, ecology, limnology and data science, as well as providing knowledge of lake restoration techniques implemented at Loch Leven, Scotland – one of the six ‘demo basins’ in the project. UKCEH’s role therefore spans the assessment of restoration techniques, stakeholder engagement & governance, contributing to the upscaling plan and Blueprint, and implementing these plans and disseminating the outcomes.
