Welcome Amara!

✨ The PIG-PARADIGM team keeps growing! Let's give a warm shout-out to our newest team member, Amara Benn!

🎓 Amara has just stepped in the role as a PhD student in Nutrition Pillar this August, and she will be part of the Slupsky Lab (Research Theme Lead: Carolyn Slupsky) at University of California, Davis.

📚 Amara Benn grew up in Wisconsin and received her B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before joining UCD, she worked in the Arriola Apelo Lab and conducted research on nitrogen efficiency in dairy cows. The project focused on the effects of  dietary energy and amino acids on nutrient metabolism.

🐷 Amara's work in PIG-PARADIGM will investigate the effects of maternal diet on offspring gut health, immunity and microbiome.
