🌏 Strong PIG-PARADIGM representation at ISME20 in Auckland!

Members of the PIG-PARADIGM team presented their latest research at the 20th International Symposium on Microbial Ecology (ISME20).

🔬 Kevin Jerez-Bogota presented "Species-level faecal microbiota development from suckling to 25 days post-weaning in piglets", highlighting how pre-weaning nutritional supplementation can shape microbiota development and accelerate the establishment of a mature-like gut community.

🔬 Mohak Gujare presented "Identifying prognostic biomarkers for post-weaning diarrhea (PWD) in piglets using combinatorial predictive models", combining microbiome data, growth dynamics, and blood biomarkers to identify piglets at risk before weaning and support reduced antibiotic use.

🔬 Barış Erhan Özdinç presented "Neobalantidium coli tracking in pig gut metagenomes reveals it is more than a tropical parasite", uncovering its global distribution, cecal niche, and dynamics around weaning across international datasets.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our posters in Ariki Hall and engaged in inspiring discussions. We are excited to share our work and connect with the microbial ecology community.
