PIG-PARADIGM PhD students participate in organoid workshop at ANSES

✨Recently, PIG-PARADIGM PhD students Ulia Renfelia Baysi and Li Hsuan Chen from Aarhus University, Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, participated in a hands-on workshop on organoid technologies at the Viral Genetics and Biosafety Unit (GVB) of the Ploufragan-Plouzané-Niort Laboratory, ANSES, France.

Recently, PIG-PARADIGM PhD students Ulia and Li-Hsuan from ANIVET, Aarhus University, participated in a hands-on workshop on organoid technologies at the Viral Genetics and Biosafety Unit (GVB) of the Ploufragan-Plouzané-Niort Laboratory, ANSES, France.

The workshop aimed to provide advanced training in organoid isolation, culture, and analysis techniques, with a special focus on their application to animal health and research. Over the course, Ulia and Li-Hsuan got to isolate and culture porcine intestinal crypts into 3D organoids, expand their knowledge in 3D replication and 2D monolayer culture of organoids, and gained valuable insights into cell marker assays, including flow cytometry and immunolabelling techniques.

Furthermore, Ulia and Li-Hsuan had the chance to showcase their research projects at the GVB journal club, enhancing both their academic development and collaborative engagement.

This unique experience will play a crucial role in their upcoming work within the PIG-PARADIGM project, particularly in testing the effects of metabolites on porcine organoids.
