PIG-PARADIGM PhD student presented at 2024 American Society of Animal Science Midwest Annual Meeting

PIG-PARADIGM’s PhD students, Sangwoo Park and Supatirada (Jane) Wongchanla, recently attended the 2024 American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) Midwest Annual Meeting. Jane presented her research at the conference.

On March 11-13, 2024, PIG-PARADIGM’s PhD students, Sangwoo Park and Supatirada (Jane) Wongchanla from Dr. Yanhong Liu's lab, attended the 2024 American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) Midwest Annual Meeting in Madison, Wisconsin, USA.

Jane presented her PIG-PARADIGM research results entitled ‘Effects of L-glutamate and L-aspartate supplementation on systemic and intestinal immune responses of weaned piglets challenged with F18 ETEC’ in the session of ‘Nonruminant Nutrition VII – Nutritional Strategies Under Health Challenge’.

Jane’s PhD project in PIG-PARADIGM aims to understand the role of glutamate and aspartate on intestinal mucosal immunity and microbiota to enhance overall intestinal health and disease resistance of weaned pigs.
