Congratulations to PIG-PARADIGM ’s PhD student, Supatirada Wongchanla (Jane), for presenting her work at the 2024 American Society of Animal Science Annual Meeting (2024 ASAS-CSAS-WSASAS Annual Meeting), held from 21-25 July in Calgary, Canada.

Jane presented her PIG-PARADIGM research results titled "Effects of L-glutamate and L-aspartate supplementation on intestinal immunity and intestinal barrier integrity of weaned piglets challenged with F18 ETEC" in the session of “Nonruminant Nutrition: Amino acid and Chelated Minerals

Jane’s PhD project in PIG-PARADIGM aims to understand the role of glutamate and aspartate on intestinal mucosal immunity and intestinal integrity to enhance overall intestinal health, promote growth performance, and improve disease resistance of weaned pigs. She is currently working in Dr Yanhong Liu’s lab at UC Davis.
