PhD Student Wins Travel Bursary at ISAG 2025

This summer, Jiahong Sun, our PhD student at KU, attended the 40th International Society for Animal Genetics Conference (ISAG 2025) in Daejeon, Korea. This was her very first international conference - and one of the most important events in the field of animal genetics.

Jiahong presented a poster “A genome-wide association study examining 24 hematological traits at two different ages in production pigs.” She was also awarded a travel bursary, recognizing both the quality of her research and the importance of international collaboration.

Reflecting on the experience, Jiahong shared: “I was very glad to share my research and the PIG-PARADIGM project with others. It was so nice to discuss with people from the same field, which made me feel like I'm not working alone.”

Congratulations, Jiahong! We’re proud to see our young researchers grow, connect, and represent PIG-PARADIGM on the international stage.
