New blog post: The microbial mystery: exploring bacteria in inflamed tissues

✨Last week, we shared a blog post introducing Darya Vodolazska’s work within PIG-PARADIGM, where we also highlighted her collaboration with PhD student Stine. This week, we turn the spotlight on Stine K. Østergaard, who shares insights into her research on the bacterial populations present in the intestinal tissues of patients suffering from chronic inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD).
🐖🧍♀️The primary objective of Stine's study is to investigate the differences between inflamed and non-inflamed tissues and to determine whether inflammation is caused by the bacteria or if the inflammation itself induces changes in the bacterial populations. A unique aspect of Darya and Stine’s work is the parallel investigation across both human patients and pigs.
