New blog post: Oxidative stress in post-weaning piglets

Pernille is a PhD student at the Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Aarhus University. Her work within PIG-PARADIGM investigates the relationship between oxidative stress and post-weaning diarrhea in pigs, as well as potential biomarkers for oxidative stress.

Post-weaning diarrhea, caused by complex factors including oxidative stress, impacts piglet health and productivity. Pernille's research explores how supplementation with polyunsaturated fatty acids, such as those found in hemp oil and fish oil, with or without vitamin E, affects piglets’ health and immunity pre- and post-weaning.
