June Monthly Seminar recap – ECR spotlights
In PIG-PARADIGM, Early Career Researchers (ECRs) also take an active role in coordinating our Monthly Seminars. For the June session, the ECR group invited several project participants who were unable to attend and present at the 2025 Annual Meeting to share updates on their research.
The format followed the themed talk sessions from the Annual Meeting with three short presentations followed by a panel discussion. We had the pleasure of hearing from the following presenters:
1️⃣ Li Hsuan Chen (PhD student, Aarhus University, Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences) - The impact of microbial-derived metabolites on gut function in weaned piglets under different levels of dietary crude protein and a surplus of dietary amino acids
2️⃣ Elisabeth Chassé (Tenure track assistant professor, Aarhus University, Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences) - Novel sustainable feedstuffs to promote gut health in piglets
3️⃣ Anneliek ter Horst (Post Doc, University of California, Davis) - Large scale analysis of publicly available pig gut metagenomes
A big thank you to our speakers for sharing their expertise and to everyone who joined the discussion - it’s always exciting and inspiring to see the progress happening across the consortium!
