PIG-PARADIGM PhD student successfully completed qualifying exam
We are happy to share that PIG-PARADIGM PhD student Astrid Pilgård Rasmussen has successfully passed her PhD qualifying exam. In Denmark, this mid-term evaluation allows students to present their progress and outline plans for the remainder of their PhD, receiving feedback from supervisors and external examiners.
During the exam, Astrid presented her project: "Anti-inflammatory and antioxidative diet interactions on oxidative stress and gut health in weaned pigs". This study focuses on how agricultural by-products can be used in feed for weaned pigs to boost oxidative status and gut health. She also shared her plans for future analyses, PhD coursework, and an upcoming research stay at the PIG-PARADIGM partner institution, the University of California, Davis.
A big congratulations to Astrid on reaching this important milestone in her PhD journey!
