✨ Time flies! We just wrapped up our final Monthly Seminar of 2024. This session, organized by our Early Career Researchers (ECRs), featured two fascinating presentations:
1️⃣ Cecilie Brandt Becker, PhD student at the University of Copenhagen, presented: “From Pixels to Pathology: Challenges and Insights in AI-Driven Histological Analysis”.
Cecilie gave a conceptual talk on the challenges and pitfalls of training machine-learning models in histopathology with limited sample sizes and explored the question: “how far can we get, when we don’t have all the data in the world?”, exemplified by intestinal pathology in pigs 🐷
2️⃣ Anna Sophia Feix, Postdoc at Aarhus University, shared her work: “From Lab to Farm: Gaining Knowledge about Cystoisospora suis for Potential Vaccine Development”.
Anna delved into her research on the apicomplexan parasite Cystoisospora suis, aiming to develop in vitro cultures that support all its developmental stages. These cultures enable detailed analysis to identify proteins that could serve as candidates for a parasite-specific vaccine🧪💉
A huge thanks to Cecilie and Anna for sharing their inspiring work and to everyone who joined us for this fantastic event! 💡
We’re excited for more engaging seminars in 2025 🚀 Stay tuned for updates!
