The Science Advisory Board of the MARCHES project:

Dr. Hilde Fagerli

Head of Head of division for climate modelling and air pollution and EMEP MSC-W, The Norwegian Meteorological Institute. Norway. 

Hilde Fagerli is an expert on air pollution modeling and has been working with the EMEP model for many years. She has extensive experience with use of models for policy advice for example through source allocations e.g. as part of the Copernicus Policy service. 

Prof. em. Nino Künzli

Former Full Prof. of Public Health, Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (SwissTPH) and university of Basel; former Dean Swiss School of Public Health (SSPH+). Co-Editor in Chief Int J Public Health of SSPH+ 

Trained as environmental epidemiologist, Nino Künzli conducted research since 1989 until the retirement (2023). He is an expert on the effects of ambient air pollution on the human health and on methodologies related to health impact assessments. 

Dr. Mary H. Ward

Former Senior Investigator, National Cancer Institute, Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology Branch, USA (retired)

Mary H. Ward is an expert on the potential carcinogenic effects of drinking water contaminants, pesticides, and persistent pollutants in relation to development of cancer. She has expertise in exposure assessment modeling of environmental contaminants using Geographic Information Systems and environmental sampling.

Professor Klea Katsouyanni

Klea Katsouyanni is a Professor of Public Health, Environmental Research Group, School of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London and a Professor Emeritus of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Medical School.

Klea Katsouyanni is an environmental epidemiologist investigating the effects of environmental exposures on health. She is an expert on health effects of exposure to outdoor air pollution and on how to develop concentration response functions (CRFs) to be used in health assessments. She has been involved in a number of national and international advisory committees (E.C., W.H.O.) for environmental health topics and is currently a member of the WHO Global Air Pollution and Health Technical Advisory Group.
