The project, OrganicDairyHealth, will improve dairy health in organic dairy production through a combined improvement of management and breeding. Focusing on dairy cow health provides a unique opportunity for improving societal trust in organic milk production. Research questions will contribute to immediate improvements of animal health and welfare through optimized farm management as well as long-term improvements through breeding in Europe.

Improving the productivity of organic farming systems is highly important for the development of a more sustainable food and feed supply and for safeguarding the soil and other limited resources, which future food production depends on.
