Katrine Juul Andresen

Katrine is an Associate Professor in Marine Geophysics based at the Department of Geoscience,  Aarhus University in Denmark.

Katrine is a specialist in marine 2D and 3D reflection seismic and acoustic investigations, integrated with sediment core and borehole data. Her research focuses on reconstructing submerged paleolandscapes to assess geological processes of landscape and environment evolution during changing sea level and climate.

Katrine is the Coordinating Principal Investigator of the SUBNORDICA project. Katrine and her team will work primarily on WP2 focused on the eastern North Sea region. Here, the team will use legacy and new geophysical data and sediment cores to advance the project’s understanding of Doggerland’s geological evolution during the late glacial and early Holocene time periods. The team will further provide sea level modelling for the project and develop probabilistic inversion approaches for automatic identification and geophysical characterization of archaeology.
