Jonas is a dendrochronologist with a background in biology. He is based at the Department of Archaeological Science and Conservation, Moesgaard Museum in Denmark.
Jonas is specialized in tree-ring analysis and wood anatomy. He conducts dendrochronological investigations on a wide range of wooden objects from both the field of archaeology, historic buildings, as well as tree remnants of paleolandscapes.
In the scope of SUBNORDICA submerged trees will be the primary object of investigation. Jonas is part of the Work Package 3 primarily focused on Kattegat and the Western Baltic Sea. His work will focus on compiling and expanding tree-ring records from the project region to establish a spatial network of precisely dated submerged trees giving high resolution spatiotemporal insight into sea level change and climate in past millennia.
