David Stott

David is a Curator at the Unit of Archaeological IT, Moesgaard Museum.

David is a specialist in archaeological prospection and remote sensing, and develops software to help archaeologists get the most of these data. His research is focused on how we can use big data to examine how people change landscapes and landscapes change people.

David will work on work package 3 in SUBNORDICA, focused mainly on shallow sites in Aarhus bay. This work will focus on the automated detection of small scale features on the seabed, including using high definition bathymetric data to identify submerged wood, concentrations of stones that can indicate erosion and deposition of sediment, and identification of artefacts and ecofacts in subsurface video footage.
