Visual aerial surveys of marine mammals and seabirds in the Greenland Sea

An abundance estimate of the critically endangered bowhead whale that summers in the Greenland Sea will be produced by using data obtained from an aerial line transect survey. In addition to bowhead whales and possibly other large cetaceans, the distribution of seabirds, narwhal and walrus will be investigated.
