WP1: Emerging Contaminants in STRBs – The Problem

• Objective: Measure PFAS and antibiotics in full-scale STRB systems in Denmark.
• Tasks: Sampling and chemical analysis of sludge cores from various STRB facilities.

WP2: Transformation Analysis and Hybridizing STRBs with MFC and Earthworms – The Solution

• Objective: Enhance biodegradation of contaminants using earthworms and microbial fuel cells.
• Tasks: Laboratory mesocosm studies to determine decay rates and transformation products.

WP3: Integration of Machine Learning for STRB Contaminant Analysis and Optimization

• Objective: Use machine learning to analyze data, predict contaminant dynamics, and optimize STRB operations.
• Tasks: Data analysis, model development, and validation.
