The CORE Organic Pleiades Network has officially launched its ROADMAP 2030 and Action Plan for 2024-2025, marking a significant milestone on the network’s 20th anniversary. The ROADMAP 2030 is a forward-looking document developed through collaborative efforts by the 43 network partners, which was initiated at the CORE Organic Annual Workshop held in Brussels in October 2023. This comprehensive roadmap is aligned with the European Green Deal targets and outlines future research priorities.
The ROADMAP 2030 emphasizes the need for transnational cooperation to address key challenges identified in national and regional Organic Action. By mapping thematic research priorities, such as building research capacity, fostering knowledge exchange, and addressing the complexities of organic transitions, the document sets the stage for a more coordinated and efficient approach to research and innovation in the organic sector.
The accompanying Action Plan for 2024-2025 outlines the immediate steps the network will take to implement and work towards the ROADMAP 2030's vision. Key activities include a focus on increasing research funding for organic food and farming, widening the CORE Organic Pleiades network, improving institutional coordination and alignment as well as strong communication and dissemination. To make these goals measurable, each activity is accompanied by specific objectives, results, KPIs, means of verification and impacts.
The CORE Organic Pleiades Network, which covers 28 countries and regions, is focused on increasing R&I funding and preparing for new Horizon Europe funding opportunities. The network aim to overcome institutional barriers, enhance coordination, and ultimately strengthen the organic sector's contribution to sustainable agriculture across Europe.
