The overarching objective of WP5 will be to provide a new analysis and synthesis of data collected within the project to improve estimates of greenhouse gas emissions from crop residues reported in national inventories.

Specific objectives of this work package are:

• To improve our understanding of the factors controlling background emissions of N2O

• To develop an improved methodology for calculating national emissions of N2O from crop residues using activity data and modelling from WPs 1-4

• To share with stakeholders improved methodologies for the estimation of emissions and the application of this methodology in different parts of Europe.
