WP2: Point sources and current levels

Lead Martin M. Larsen, AU

Objectives

  • Objective 1: Identification of relevant point sources of HS and potential risks in the South-Eastern Great Belt and Smålandsfarvandet. Selection of focus areas and key HS.
  • Objective 2: To provide concentration levels in spot samples and passive samplers averaged over 14-21 days as input to models (WP3) and deploy passive samplers for collecting realistic mixtures for toxicity testing (WP4), together with measured levels in fish, mussels, and seals.
  • Objective 3: To combine the passive sampling with advanced chemical screening techniques and compare with recent non-target screening results for fish and mussels in the area in an OSPAR screening study.

Deliverables

  • D2.1: Map of area with point sources and contaminant types, including overall risk factor from sources and overview of available data for modelling [M4]. Input to all WPs.
  • D2.2: Concentration levels of metals and PFCs in water to WP3 [M14]. Input to all WPs.
  • D2.3: Summary report of WP2 with maps and figures indicating general levels in the area compared with the selected hot spots results of chemical analysis delivered for use in all WPs [M18].
