The aim of this subproject is to investigate the spatial strategies of fencing and the politics of biosecurity in the borderlands. It will study how migratory wild boars became labeled as a bio threat and classified as an ‘invasive’ other and its contentions among farmers, conservationists and politicians. It will analyse how the Danish fencing strategies align with or differ from the prolifiration of border fencing in Europe and beyond. The subproject is headed by Michael Eilenberg, in close collaboration with Annika Pohl Harrisson.
