Research in Aarhus 2017: the Economic spill-over

Kristina Risom Jespersen is the research manager of one of the nine rethinkIMPACTS 2017 research projects. Her project Measuring the economic spill-over from the creative industry seeks to identify Danish creative businesses and how these companies affect innovation in other companies.

At the moment they are mapping which Danish companies that can be defined as creative companies.

Simultaneously, they are in the start-up phase of measuring the effect creative companies have on innovation and other companies.

A milestone was reached at the end of August, as they held an international workshop that focused on the measurement of the economic spill-over from creative industries.

At this workshop a small group of researchers were invited and they contributed to the development of the project by bringing in knowledge from similar projects.

The project Measuring the economic spill-over from creative industries can contribute to rethinkIMPACTS 2017 through the development of a method that can measure the economic impact Aarhus 2017 will have on creative companies on the longer term.

Furthermore, it can measure how creative companies economically and creatively have affected each other.

The plan is to perform yearly measurements from 2015 and until 2018.
