Evaluation of RETHINK projects

This spring Aarhus 2017 granted money to 24 micro projects. These projects had all young project managers in the age of 18 to 30 years in common.

In the middle of August it was time to evaluate the projects. Thus, Aarhus 2017 and rethinkIMPACTS 2017 invited the young project managers to an evaluation workshop.

Here they could exchange experiences with one another and at the same time pass on recommendations to Aarhus 2017.

These recommendations can be used henceforward when Aarhus 2017 grants money to micro projects in 2015 and 2016.

Amongst other things, the project managers requested more visibility from Aarhus 2017, a better network amongst the projects, and a mentor arrangement, where previous micro project managers could share their knowledge with new project managers. For many project managers this micro project was their first project ever.

Common for these project managers was that they all experienced their projects as very successful even though many projects had to be re-assessed en route

The project managers have had a free hand and hence they have used the project as a playground, where they have been able to develop themselves and learn something new about the creation of culture.

Jan Løhmann and Birgit Eriksson participated in the workshop. They are both researchers on the rethinkIMPACTS 2017 research project Participating citizenship.

At the workshop they gained an insight in what may motivate young people to enter into these cultural projects and what they have gained from these micro projects.

For several of the young people these micro projects have sharpened their taste for new cultural projects.
