Associate professor Anne Marit Waade, DAC

There is a massive interest and optimism among policymakers and researchers in relation to the creative sector’s capacity to secure economic growth, employment, investment, develop new enterprises and branding. The creative sector has become a new buzzword for regional development. This is also the case for Aarhus2017 and similar initiatives in our own region, Region Midt, e.g. Culture Tourism, IT enterprises, media production and tourism. The workshop gathers highly competent policymakers, researchers and partners from the creative sector, all of them dealing with possibilities and challenges within the field.

In the Spring 2014, Aarhus University is host for guest professor Katherine Gibson, Center for Urban Studies, Sydney, Australia. She is focusing on community development and small enterprises. Gibson will take part in the workshop as a discussant together with Iris Rittenhofer (AU, Business and Cultural Communication).
