Elite sport has specific dietary requirements. In many sports disciplines nutritional intake has a decisive influence on both adaptation to the daily training, but also to the ability to perform on the day of the competition. Research shows that dietary macronutrient content can affect the refund and thus the performance ability of elite athletes. Similarly, focusing on energy from the diet and composition essential for optimizing the athletes' body composition. Modelling of fat mass and muscle mass may be associated with significant advantages in both aesthetic as weight-bearing and strength-bearing sports disciplines. A defective energy dietary intake has also negative consequences for the athletes' refund injury risk and long-term health after career breaks. Finally, it is documented that certain supplements can raise performance in specific sports.
