Annette and Jonas visited the World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden on the 16th of September 2019. Present at the meeting were the Vice President (Academic Affairs) of WMU, Professor Jens-Uwe Schroder-Hinrichs and Professor Song Dong-Wook, Thiago Fonseca and Khanssah Lagdami (Researchers).
 

The aim of the visit was to get discuss the findings of a report published by the WMU that is relevant to our work. The is report dubbed: Transport 2040: Automation, Technology, Employment- The Future of Work. The report can be found here https://commons.wmu.se/lib_reports/58/.  The discussion centred on automation in the Maritime Transport Sector and the labour dynamics in the Fourth Industrial Revolution or Industry 4.0. We shared experiences so far on the topic and agreed to collaborate and contribute the next report that will include details on the port sector and most important sections on the social aspect of the industry.
