Green energy transition in Aarhus: visions, reality and your choices

How do we create a green energy future that works in both everyday life and the energy system? This event focuses on the role of citizens in the development of tomorrow’s energy infrastructure — illuminated through historical experience, current transition plans and future perspectives.

Aarhus is in the midst of major energy decisions: phase-out of wood pellets in district heating, new possibilities in heat pumps, geothermal energy and CO₂ capture, as well as local initiatives such as the CO-SHAPE project in Spørring, where citizens co-plan new energy solutions.

The event includes a panel debate where researchers, practitioners and civil society actors discuss how citizen involvement can shape the green transition in practice. Panellists include:

• Bue Juul Poulsgaard, PhD fellow in energy history, Aarhus University
