MONITECH was developed and novel and cost-effective sensor technologies was tested for use in national and international monitoring programme. MONITECH also developed a scientifically based monitoring and decision-support system that enabled a novel description and quantification of the impact of wetland restoration on surface water quality, greenhouse gas emissions and biodiversity.
