Course details

Prerequisites

The students are expected to have knowledge in animal science.

Compulsory program

Participation in  residential course including lectures, theoretical exercises, group reflections and discussions and students’ presentation in plenum here among student panel discussions.

Preparation of individual a course report based on own empiric data on a topic of their own choice related to their own PhD study.

Participation at the follow-up course (examination) including presentation of own course report for fellow students and working as opponent of fellow students report presentation. Besides this participating in orally examination by internal censor and course organizer.

Evaluation of course participation.

Course participants are expected to deliver 150 working hours divided between:

  • Residential course: 5 days including lectures, participant presentations and group work.
  • Written report after finalizing residential stay based on own data collection.
  • Participating in 1-2 day follow-up including preparing the fellow-student opponent task and own oral examination.

Costs

PhD students: 5000 DKK (including a 1-2-day follow-up) covering materials, lodging and meals (3000 DKK excl. lodging). Other participants: 15000 DKK (incl. lodging and meals). All participants cover their own travelling costs.

1-2 day follow-up/oral examination: Aarhus University, AU-Foulum, Department of Animal Science.
