Writing bootcamp in Lomé, Togo
The PEPP-team has just finished a 4-day writing bootcamp in Lomé, Togo. The bootcamp has given the researchers the opportunity to discuss the status and contents of their articles, as well as a chance to engage with local stakeholders of Lomé Port. On the very first day of the Togo-stay, the team had the pleasure of visiting the Port of Lomé, including a guided tour of one of the container terminals. The team also met with representatives from PIA (La Plateforme Industrielle d'Adétikopé), and the Ministry of Maritime Economy, Fisheries, and Coastal Protection. Lastly the team visited ISLA, an English-speaking university based in Lomé. Here, the team interacted with students and teachers, introducing the project and the role of the maritime sector in development and collaboration.
Today the PEPP II team heads back to Ghana after a busy four days in Lomé with port visits, article writing, and meetings with future partners for the Africa Blue Economy Network. Wednesday the PEPP II team will meet the Ambassador of Denmark to Ghana, the Harbour Master of Tema Port, and visit the MPS terminal. Friday the team will be in Tema to launch the Africa Blue Economy Network at the Royal Nick Hotel. Please register on the website-event if you wish to participate.
