MILESTONE

Change that mattered in the Late Iron Age

About the project

Everything changes; sometimes slower, sometimes faster, but it always does and always has. But when does change resonate louder, deeply affecting human lives? MILESTONE seeks to map the tempos and impacts of change in the past following the trajectory of a single community through a 600 year-period – that which shaped the iconic Late Iron Age site of Lindholm Høje. Applying a relational approach to the analysis of archaeological proxies for social and cultural change, MILESTONE will harness the untapped potential of a site unique in Europe and bring fresh views on the multi-scalarity of history.
