The cemetery and the associated long-term settlement at Lindholm Høje are iconic in Danish archaeology. The research on them so far has created a huge body of archival data, but the sites are also subject to a new investigation beyond this archival data as part of the Milestone project at Aarhus University.
This seminar details ongoing work that uses archival data in different forms to solve problems and advance the research agenda of the Milestone project. This illustrates the utility of using archival data to create new knowledge on sites and archaeological data, rather than archival research taking place as a parallel activity to scientific analysis and archaeological fieldwork.
