ABOUT THE FAST-FORWARD PARTNERSHIP

There is an urgent need for plant-based food production to contribute to the reduction of global greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) by supporting the global transition towards healthier and more sustainable diets. To succeed, all stakeholders must unite forces and work strategically.

The purpose of the symposia series is to accelerate the transition to more plant-based food consumption by maximizing the impact of the four platforms Plant2Food, AgriFoodTure, GUDP and the Plant-based Food Grant through aligning efforts to support research and innovation.

The platforms have joined forces to organize a series of three symposia over three years and launch supporting activities aiming at breaking down silos and overcoming barriers for exploiting synergies and accelerating innovation towards a sustainable, healthy and fair agri-food system.

Symposium I was held in spring 2024 and focused on raising awareness, matchmaking and identifying knowledge gaps and research needs. Symposium II took place in May 2025 with a focus on public-private partnerships. Symposium III will be hosted 12 May 2026 and will focus on impact investment.

The Fast-Forward Plant-based Food Symposia Series is a Novo Nordisk Foundation sponsored initiative.
