We are excited to welcome the CRIES team to Aarhus, June 8–10, for our upcoming workshop! Following the seminar in Vilnius, this gathering will be dedicated to shaping the project and pushing forward the development of our joint monograph, which is an important milestone for the project.

CRIES investigates the role of collective singing during times of social crisis across the Scandinavian and Baltic regions, from around 1800 to the present. At its core, the project asks how singing together fosters communal bonds, cultural resilience, and social cohesion, while also examining where it may create exclusion or discord.

Moments like these, where the full team comes together in person, are invaluable. They give us the space to align our thinking, spark new ideas across work packages, and move our shared outputs forward in ways that remote collaboration simply can't replicate. We look forward to seeing everyone in Aarhus!
